CNN —Independent presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. officially qualified for the ballot in Michigan, a key battleground state that could prove pivotal in deciding the outcome of the 2024 presidential election. Natural Law Party of Michigan chair Doug Dern told CNN the party nominated Kennedy in a convention on Wednesday. The Michigan Secretary of State’s office confirmed to CNN the party’s nomination has been approved and Kennedy will appear on the state’s ballot. In a hypothetical head-to-head matchup between Trump and Biden, Trump earned 48% support from Michigan voters, while Biden earned 45% support. Michigan is the second state where Kennedy has officially qualified for the ballot.

The "Tiger King" star previously tried and failed to get a presidential pardon from Trump, and he appears to have held a grudge for being omitted from the pardon list ever since. During a phone interview from Atlanta Penitentiary with Fox News' Lawrence Jones, Exotic blamed the Trump Administration for putting him behind bars. In his closing statement during the interview, Exotic encouraged people to visit his campaign website to learn more about his platform, but he was cut off as viewers were inadvertently reminded where he was calling from.

Joe Exotic of "Tiger King" fame is running a long-shot 2024 campaign as a libertarian. At press time, Exotic's 2024 campaign appeared to still need some staffers. Exotic listed several "celebrities and influencers" who he says have endorsed him, including a man named Seth Posey, whose occupation is listed only as "Joe's fiancé." Angela McArdle, chair of the Libertarian Party, slammed Exotic's campaign in an interview with TMZ on March 19. Exotic, McArdle, and Meester did not immediately respond to Insider's requests for comment outside regular business hours.

Raphael Warnock and his Republican challenger, Herschel Walker , are headed to a runoff election in December, sending Georgia voters back to the polls in a high-stakes Senate showdown for the second time in two years. Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger Wednesday said neither candidate will notch the required 50% support under state law, largely because of the presence of Chase Oliver, a Libertarian Party candidate, on the ballot. Brian Kemp and Democratic challenger Stacey Abrams clashed in a debate Monday night over issues ranging from guns and crime to abortion and election laws. The debate came at a crucial time for Abrams as she seeks to gain ground after trailing in the polls all year. Kemp is leading Abrams by 5 to 6 percentage points in averages of recent surveys, with just three weeks to go until Election Day. Abrams hit Kemp for restricting legal abortion and backing permissive gun laws, which she said have made Georgia less safe. Kemp has rejected expansion, calling it a “broken government program,” while Abrams argued that it’s necessary to protect Georgians.
